In a replay of yesterday’s game, Germany defeated Spain to win their second win of the tournament. Following their one-point loss to Australia earlier in the day, Germany came out with a point to prove to and dominated the opening quarter 18-6.
Spain struggled to find the basket in the second quarter, with their only points coming from Vicky Perez, who hit six points to keep the score within 17. 29 -12.
Germany controlled the game throughout the third and fourth quarter of each 17-11 and 20-10, respectively, as they took the victory 66 – 33.
Germany’s Marina Mohnen led the scorers with 18 points, followed by Vicky Perez (ESP) and Katharina Lang (GER) ten points each.
