Australia Gliders storm to first win at Nations Cup Cologne

The first game of Nations Cup Cologne goes to the Australian women’s team as they defeated Spain. 86-40 .

Australia women (the Gliders) opened their Nations Cup campaign and the tournament with a strong performance against Spain women.

Australia’s height and speed proved to be good for the Spanish women, as they struggled to keep the gliders out of the key, allowing them to push ahead to a 45 – 19 lead at halftime.

Spain’s head to the second half despite the deficit and pressure, Australia’s Head Coach, David Gould’s to the World Championships next week, with all but one putting points on the board.

Georgia Munro-Cook scored the points for the Australians, with 17 points while Almudena Montiel scored top scored for Spain with a high of 14 points.
